||| High Speed Access: T1/T3

T1 and T3 circuits are point-to-point leased lines that are very fast and extremely reliable. The monthly cost for both T1 and T3 circuits are usually based on distance, depending on who provides it and where it goes.

T1
A T1 line can simultaneously transmit and receive 1.54 mbps, roughly 60 times more data per second than a typical modem. Because they are extremely reliable, T1 lines are widely used for private networks as well as interconnections between an organization's PBX or LAN and the telephone company. A T1 line can usually handle hundreds of users for general Internet browsing. T1 lines, while fast, are not quick enough for full-screen, full-motion video, which would require an even faster T3 line. If you plan to have several users downloading MP3 files or video files simultaneously, you should consider a T3 line.

Xecunet offers a variety of T1 line configurations, including fractional T1s, based on bandwidth and usage.

T3
A T3 line is capable of carrying data at 45 mbps — enough to handle full-screen, full-motion video. A single T3 connection is the equivalent of 28 T1 lines and is appropriate for large companies with multitudes of users. T3 circuits are delivered over twix coaxial cables, and normally require the installation of fiber optics into your office. Fortunately, this is customarily provided by the telephone company delivering the circuit.

Xecunet offers a broad range of bandwidth options delivered over T3, priced and sized to fit your organization's needs.

Xecunet offers these optional services to support your T1 or T3 Internet access:

Service Level Agreement
Xecunet has implemented an unprecedented Service Level Agreement (SLA) for T3 and T1 connections. Our guarantees are some of the most comprehensive in the industry covering:
Latency
Guaranteed average monthly latency of no more than 85 ms round-trip within Xecunet's network

Proactive Outage Notification
Guaranteed customer notification by Xecunet operations within minutes of an outage

Installation
Guaranteed that your connection will be up and billable in no more than 40 business days for T1 connections.

Line Ordering
For new T1/T3 customers, Xecunet orders the line between your location and the nearest Xecunet Point-of-Presence (POP) with the local exchange carrier and/or long-distance carrier. Because Xecunet holds the lease on the circuit, Xecunet can request maintenance and troubleshooting from the appropriate carrier.

Dual Retermination
Xecunet will install and activate a parallel Internet connection at your new location and we will not disconnect your original connection until you determine it is appropriate. This optional service makes moving your Internet connection as easy as possible.

CPE Pricing
Xecunet can provide customers with high-quality Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) at prices well below retail. All Xecunet-provided CPE is tested and certified for use with an Xecunet connection. We also preconfigure the equipment before making it available to you.

IP Addressing
Xecunet assigns its T1/T3 customers a portion of a standard Class C block of nonportable addresses. Full Class C's or additional Class C blocks can be obtained with proper justification.

DNS Registration
Xecunet will facilitate Domain Name Server (DNS) registration. DNS registration is handled by InterNIC, the organization responsible for allocating domain names.

DNS Service
Every domain name needs a primary and secondary DNS to advertise it to the rest of the Internet. Xecunet provides a primary and secondary DNS for its customers.

Installation Engineering
T1/T3 customers are assigned an installation engineer who will work with you on all the above topics. This engineer is personally responsible for the timely installation of your high-speed solution. Your engineer will guide and assist you through the installation and will be available for your inquiries after your circuit is up and billable.
